We are blessed with a gem of a setting. The green is well-maintained. The grounds have tall hedges on all four sides, and through the summer there are tubs and baskets to add colour. As you pass through the gate, you can leave the busy world behind, and enjoy good bowling and good company in a tranquil setting.

The green, grounds and clubhouse are maintained by Club members, under the guidance of our head greenkeeper, Peter. Over the years, members have undertaken some major improvements, including building the veranda to provide sheltered seating, the score hut, and extended decking, which is great for catching the summer sun.

We do not have a bar, but there’s always free tea, coffee and biscuits on offer. We also lay on a great buffet when we play friendlies and Club team events.

We are an inclusive Club. The Club constitution helps us to maintain an even balance of lady and gentleman members. We are happy to welcome anyone who wants to enjoy crown green bowling in a sociable atmosphere.

The emphasis of the Club is on social bowling. We only play League bowls once a week. That’s not to say we don’t have good and competitive players: in 2023, we had finalists in two of the SouthWest Birmingham Over-60’s Open competitions. And we’re always on the lookout for good bowlers who perhaps no longer want to play league bowls seven days a week.
