There’s only one word to describe the 2009 Finals weekend  -  EXCELLENT!

Two very good days of fine, dry and relatively warm  conditions on a well manicured green and in the usual lovely setting.

All this coupled with a well organised programme and a very high standard of bowling throughout, made it a weekend to savour for the many members and friends who came to watch and support..  It was lovely to see so many member’s families there to witness the skills of their favourite bowlers, and the bowlers responded and didn’t disappoint them!

All the matches played were keenly contested, with everyone seeming to do their best on the day, but not all the final scores represented a true reflection of their competitiveness.   The standard of bowling in all the matches was truly outstanding, and one or two of the games resulted in some tight finishes.  

The overall view of the majority - if not all - of the watchers was one of admiration for the participants, and it was gratifying to see some new names on the trophies, and also to see how some of our newer bowlers had improved their skill over the past year.

Well done to all the finalists - you gave us a good show and you all thoroughly deserved the plaudits at the end.
